Simone Edmond credited god for sending him in the direction of two kids that were close to being swept away in a raging river in a southeast Dallas County. Edmond and bus monitor Tekendria Valentine, were sent that day to pickup a child who missed the bus, but did not show up. While returning home they found a boy and girl trapped in raging waters. The pair immediately began to help the father who was trying to rescue them.
Edmond told KDFW-TV, “It had to be God to send me that way, because I don’t normally go that way. It had to be God to send us that way and to make us think, because we knew they needed help.”
Edmond and Valentine were driving a special needs bus which had removable seatbelts. They took the seatbelts and tied them together. With the help of some neighbors and the father, they were able to use the seatbelts to safely recover the children from danger.
After the rescue, the little boy told Valentine, “He got out and he was like, ‘Please, I want to give you a hug. I want to give you a hug. And I was like, ‘That’s fine, you can give me a hug.’”
Edmond and Valentine were in the right place at the right time, knowing god sent them their with a purpose to help save the children.
