Country legend Dolly Parton recently inspired her fans once again by sharing the importance of faith in her life and how she relies on God for guidance and strength. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Parton, 77, discussed how her faith impacts everything she does in her life and in her career.
“My faith impacts everything that I do because I do believe that, through God, all things are possible…And so I always ask God to bless everything that I do and the people that I work with and to bring all the right things and right people into my life and to take the wrong ones out,” Parton said.
Parton credited her faith with her successful career, sharing that her spirituality has been her “guiding light” for her “creative energy.” She also shares that her faith has kept her going all these years and allowed her to still be productive.
Throughout her decades-long career, Parton has extended her incredible talent far beyond her legendary songwriting and singing. She is the founder of Imagination Library and has written numerous children’s books. Appearing next to her dog, Billy the Kid, Parton explained her latest book Billy the Kid Makes It Big which is about a dog, based on hers, “who dreams of making country music but has to overcome bullies on his quest for stardom.”
Explaining why she wrote the book, Parton said, “I want them to feel empowered. I want them to think that they know that they can do anything that they set their mind to do and that if they stick with it, it’s likely to happen. So, it’s really about confidence and standing up to bullies and just keeping on with your dream until it comes true.”
A legend in the music industry, Parton uses her fame to do so much good. From philanthropy, to encouraging others with her faith, and giving hope to children, Parton has become a role model and much loved figure for all generations.
