The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) has distributed nearly 200,000 Bibles to student-athletes this year alone, according to Christian Headlines. An organization created to inspire athletes with God’s love and help them build a relationship with the Lord, the FCA is changing lives as they guide athletes on a faithful journey. The FCA is celebrating their 68th anniversary this year, along with 3 million Bibles distributed since its launch.

FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson shared, “I believe one of the reasons God continues to bless the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is our focus on growing our Bible ministry…We are committed to God’s Word and biblical truth, and we continue to be amazed at what God is doing to get His Word into the hands of coaches and athletes around the world.”

The FCA was established in 1954 “to use the powerful platform of sport to reach every coach and every athlete with the transforming power of Jesus Christ.” According to Christian Headlines, the FCA distributes Bibles in multiple languages including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. In 2013, they joined with YouVersion to release electronic copies of their Athlete’s Bible.

Since its launch, the FCA has united athletes and coaches around the world to worship and be guided by Christ. While the pressures and challenges of sports can be overwhelming, the FCA ministry provides inspiration and encouragement to athletes to meet their challenges and move forward with the strength of God. As they continue their work around the world, the FCA will reach more people with Scripture, helping them improve their game and their lives with faith.
