Great American Family is bringing Christ back into Christmas this Christmas season as they feature a faith-filled song by the popular Christian musician Matthew West, according to Christian Headlines. West’s song, ‘Come Home For Christmas,’ will be the network’s theme song as they roll out their original Christmas movies this season. Candace Cameron Bure, who left Hallmark for Great American Family, praised West for “always bringing the heart back to Jesus” with music she called “inspiring” and “heartfelt.”
In his own social media post, West shared that Candace Cameron Bure reached out to him to add a musical feature to the Great American Family Christmas Channel. West said, the song is an “invitation for every heart to return to the wonder, the peace, the love and the hope that this holiday season offers to every heart,” adding that he hopes “when people tune in to watch their favorite holiday films on the network, that this song will serve as a musical reminder of what Christmas is all about.”
‘Come Home For Christmas’ reminds listeners of where they belong and encourages them to turn to Christ. West’s lyrics are inspirational and promising as he sings, “Come home for Christmas/Let your heart return once again to the joy and peace, the love and hope/it’s all right here waiting for you to come home.” And, “Come to a savior/who came down from Heaven just for you/How long has it been since you and your heart talked to Jesus?”
As the Christmas season approaches, it is important to remember why it is celebrated, what it means, and to share that knowledge with others. With West’s reminder that Christ is the reason we celebrate Christmas, hopefully more people will remember the true meaning of Christmas and that the love and joy we feel during this holiday comes from the Lord.
Great American Family was launched in 2021 by Bill Abbott who was formerly a Hallmark executive. The channel is releasing 18 new original Christmas movies that will feature celebrities Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Daniel Lissing, Jill Wagner, and Cameron Mathison among others.
