The jewelry industry has been raising funds to support relief efforts for Ukraine through sales of unique jewelry that has been created in solidarity with the war-torn nation. According to Forbes, jewelry designers and retailers have found ways to contribute to a variety of nonprofits that are providing emergency response aid to Ukrainians as they defend their country and separate from their families in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion. Taking action through raising awareness and funds, the jewelry industry is giving much-needed support to organizations on the ground helping the Ukrainian military as well as those who have evacuated.
Among the many jewelers who have embraced support for Ukraine is Tomasz Donocik who has created a blue and gold leather wrap bracelet with 100% of profits going to SOS Children’s Village UK Sister Poland Branch. The Polish born jeweler has shared that he stands “in solidarity” with his neighbors in Ukraine. The organization he is supporting is currently evacuating orphaned children and foster families, bringing them to their Children’s villages in Poland.
Benefitting World Central Kitchen (WCK), which is an organization on the ground providing meals to families across Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Moldova, and Hungary, is Harwell Godfrey who is donating 100% of the profits from their Malachite Heart Talisman, and Marla Aaron who is a selling a sterling silver chair charm with 100% of proceeds going to WCK.
Other jewelers include Muse x Ten Thousand Things which has created a carved lapis heart charm, an initiative they are calling “Have a Heart” with 100% of the proceeds from sales going to support Red Cross Ukraine; Greenwich St. Jewelers who sold raffle tickets for a zodiac sign pendant representing the idea that “we’re all under the same stars,” sending proceeds to Razom Emergency Response; and Circa 1700 by Susan Cohen who has created the “Love & Protection Armor hand mechanical clasp customized with the colors of the Ukrainian flag and symbolizes the Ukrainian people and their incredible will to fight to protect the country they love.”
As industries around the world are finding ways to support Ukraine in the aftermath of the Russian invasion, the jewelry industry is no exception. Using their creativity in combination with their compassion for the Ukrainian people, these jewelers, and so many more, have found a way not only to spread awareness, but also to provide funds that will help the organizations working to provide emergency relief and aid to Ukraine.
