Wisconsin Supreme Court Flips Left With Victory of Soft-On-Crime Candidate

Criminals in Wisconsin can breathe a sigh of relief as crime-friendly Supreme Court nominee Janet Protasiewicz has won the state’s election. According to the Washington Free Beacon, Protasiewicz, who was called “No Jail Janet” by her opponent, former Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly, has a record of letting off violent criminals with little to no jail time. With Protasiewicz’s victory, liberals now have a 4-3 majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The Free Beacon reports that Protasiewicz’s record poses a danger to the people of Wisconsin. They write, “in one case, she gave a six-month jail sentence to a repeat domestic abuser who fractured his estranged wife’s face and later shot the victim after he was released. She also gave probation to a child sex offender who went on to kill a teenage girl, and she let off another predator who filmed his sexual assault of a 13-year-old and posted it on Facebook.”

Flipping the state’s Supreme Court to the left could have implications for the 2024 presidential election, according to the Free Beacon. With Wisconsin being a swing-state, a contested statewide or presidential election could be determined based on a ruling from the state’s Supreme Court. It is also expected that the court will take up cases that include redrawing legislative maps which could give Democrats an advantage in congressional races, along with cases involving Wisconsin’s abortion ban and challenges to the state’s voter ID law.

Although it appears Protasiewicz’s far left messaging resonated with the voters of Wisconsin, it is also crucial to report that her party outspent Kelly by $5 million, which suggests the left’s strong fundraising efforts will be a force to be reckoned with in future elections.

Despite ads attacking Protasiewicz’s soft-on-crime policies, conservative candidate and former State Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly was defeated. While crime-ridden cities plague America, adding more to the map is only going to add to the threat of safety and security concerns for many across the country.
