Tuesday morning on FOX and Friends, Ainsley Earhardt interviewed Dr. Frita Fisher to discuss the situation of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin who collapsed on the field during last night’s game.
Dr. Fisher explained that Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest after getting hit in the chest in the “exact precise place, at the exact time in the cardiac cycle, to cause the heart to stop beating effectively” to allow blood and oxygen to the brain; a condition known as arrhythmia. Dr. Fisher explained that acting quickly is essential to survival, noting that Hamlin received CPR for 9 minutes which saved his life along with the defibrillator.
