Female Veteran Praises All-Women Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.


Wednesday morning on FOX and Friends, retired Army Lt. Col. Heath Davenport shared her experience on the first ever all women Honor Flight from Florida to Washington, D.C. where she and over 100 female veterans had an opportunity to visit memorials and museums.

e warm welcome they received, visiting the museums in Washington, D.C., attending a banquet, and finally visiting Arlington Cemetery where three female veterans will place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Davenport explained that the experience is special because the female veterans are among others who were some of the first to join the military when there were not many women members. She added that seeing the monuments with them, such as one World War II female veteran who is 97 years old, made the experience unique and extra special.
