Florida Lt. Gov. Nunez Describes Dept. of Education’s Rejection of ‘Woke’ Math Textbooks

Monday morning on FOX and Friends, co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy interviewed Florida Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nunez to discuss the state’s rejection of 41% of math textbooks that were submitted for public school use due to prohibited topics including Critical Race Theory.

Nunez shared that they have seen a “systematic attempt” by publishers to “infiltrate our children’s education by embedding topics such as Critical Race Theory,” which she argued has “nothing to do with math.” Nunez explained that after review, the publishers have an opportunity to fix the issues, but she does not expect they will do so and the Department of Education will have to move on to other options.

Noting that Governor Ron DeSantis has been championing parents’ rights, Nunez added that she believes this new development will allow parents “to breathe a sigh of relief.”
