Iraq War Veteran Could Become the Only Black Republican Woman in Congress

Thursday morning on FOX and Friends, Ainsley Earhardt interviewed Iraq war veteran Jennifer-Ruth Green who won the Republican primary in Indiana’s first congressional district and will now face off against Democratic incumbent Frank Mrvan. If Green wins, she will become the only black Republican woman in Congress.

Green explained that she is running for Congress because as a military member and a conservative, she saw a “clear lack of leadership” and felt “underrepresented.” Green wants to address the policies that are failing Americans, noting that inflation, poor energy policies, skyrocketing gas prices among other issues are making individuals suffer.

Green believes that the Republican values of hard work, ownership, and accountability resonate with the members of her district as those are the principles that help middle and working class people.
