Tuesday morning on FOX and Friends, guest co-host Carley Shimkus interviewed Usman Bhatti, the owner of Maaz Jewelers located in California, after he successfully protected his store from an attempted ‘smash-and-grab’ robbery. The would-be robbers fled the scene after being confronted by Bhatti who had his legally owned handgun with him.
The police arrived within minutes but were not surprised at all by the incident as these ‘smash-and-grab’ robberies happen frequently. In response to Carley’s question about why these robberies are so common, Bhatti explained that it comes down to the lack of law and order with criminals knowing that they can get away with their actions.
Small businesses continue to suffer from a lack of customers and having to keep constant guard of their stores amid the threat of these robberies. Frustrated that nothing has been done to stop the ‘smash-and-grab’ robberies, Bhatti is desperately trying to reach lawmakers who could do something to make a difference.
