Mother Remembers Beloved Son She Lost to Gun Violence

Portland mother Damala Badon joined Ainsley Earhardt on FOX and Friends Wednesday morning to discuss losing her eighteen-year-old son, Parnell Badon Jr., to gun violence.

Badon was tragically shot and killed while at a cousin’s birthday party in November when masked people entered the hotel they were staying in and opened fire. Badon shared that her beloved son was the “light of [their] lives” and the best big brother whose younger brothers looked up to him.

Portland has seen a rise in homicides and Badon shared that the reason is a combination of factors. She explained that with money being taken away from police, no prevention programs to keep kids off the streets, and the elected officials who are “too timid to do something real about it,” the problem seems to be growing.
