Oregon Bus Driver Details Assault, Discusses Public Defender Shortage

Trimet bus operator Chris Day joined FOX and Friends Tuesday morning to discuss the state of law and order in Portland, Oregon which, to put it simply, does not exist. Adding to the issue of high crime, is a public defender shortage, which is only making the situation worse.

Day, who operates a bus, described the scary scene of a bus rider attacking him with mace after kicking the back door to get out of the bus when they were not at a stop. Day shared that this was just one of four incidents of major assaults he has faced while at work. With circumstances getting scarier, Day is no longer looking to work in this business anymore, and is looking for another job.

As cases get dropped due to a public defender shortage, the amount of people getting away with crimes will only continue to grow.
