Wednesday morning on FOX and Friends, Ainsley Earhardt discussed President Biden’s first State of the Union Address with pollster Lee Carter who explained the poll results of some of Biden’s points.
Carter revealed that when President Biden stated, “we should all agree the answer is not to defund the police, it’s to fund the police,” he polled fairly well receiving an ‘A’ from Democrats and a ‘B’ from both Independents and Republicans. However, when discussing the situation in Ukraine, Biden received more mixed results after he stated, “[Putin] badly miscalculated. He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead, he met with a wall of strength he never anticipated or imagined; he met the Ukrainian people.” Carter explained that commentary on this point revealed that everyone stands strongly with Ukraine, but some are skeptical over what America’s role will be and how the situation will be addressed overall.
Carter also shared the reaction to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ rebuttal to President Biden’s State of the Union Address, noting that her message of a more limited role of government really resonated with people who do not want the government to restrict freedom or be involved in everyday decisions.
