Monday morning on FOX and Friends, Ainsley Earhardt interviewed Mississippi Rep. Michael Guest to discuss his upcoming trip to the U.S.-Mexico border. Guest shared that he and the other House Republicans will be meeting with front line customs and border patrol agents, including the chief of border patrol, along with community officials, elected officials, ranchers, and farmers, all of whom have seen firsthand the impact of the border crisis in their home state.
Guest explained that with Title 42 expiring, the border crisis is expected to worsen noting that just last month they saw 221,000 illegal immigrants enter the country and DHS has said to prepare for as many as 18,000 illegal immigrants entering the country on a daily basis which would equate to half of a million immigrants each month. This is a number, Guest asserts, that the United States is not prepared to handle.
Without a proper plan in place after Title 42 ends, Guest explained that the United States may “lose situational control along certain parts of the border.”
