Richie Sambora Honors Taylor Hawkins, Reacts to Ukrainians Playing ‘It’s My Life’

Thursday morning on FOX and Friends, Richie Sambora, former Bon Jovi guitarist, shared how he remembers Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters who suddenly died last week. Sambora described Hawkins, who was a member of one of the most successful bands in the world, as “a great guy and amazingly talented man.” The Grammy Awards will pay tribute to Hawkins this Sunday.

Sambora also responded to the crisis in Ukraine, and a video from a few weeks ago of Ukrainians listening to a Bon Jovi song co-written by Sambora, “It’s My Life,” while bagging up sandbags to protect their city from the Russians. Sambora explained that the song was a hit and made everyone feel good; music is a powerful motivator, and “It’s My Life” was the chosen song to motivate Ukrainians as they fight for their country.
