Author and royal expert, Dr. Andrew Lownie joined FOX and Friends Thursday morning as they broadcasted from London at Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebration. As the royal family joined Queen Elizabeth II on the balcony, Lownie shared his thoughts on the future of the monarchy.
Lownie explained that Queen Elizabeth II has been one of Britain’s greatest monarchs and believes this special occasion is not just a reflection of her reign, but a way of looking forward. Surrounded by the next generations of the royal family, the display on the balcony showed that there is a family and there is a future for the monarchy, according to Lownie. He added that appearing alongside the Queen are the “respectable royals” who have taken her guidance on how to prepare for and manage their duties, noting that they are doing it well.
Lownie shared that the Platinum Jubilee celebration is important for their country as it unites the people. He noted that given the challenges over the last few years and what may be ahead, the nation is stronger when they come together.
