New York second grader, David Diaz Jr. joined FOX and Friends Thursday morning with his father to share the story of how he became a hero right in his classroom after saving the life of one of his peers using the Heimlich maneuver.
David shared that he learned how to do the Heimlich maneuver after watching a television show about a doctor. David explained that he jumped right into action knowing that “you have to save everybody in life.” For his quick-thinking and life-saving actions, David earned the New York State Commendation Award.
