Senator Shares ‘Heartbreaking’ Experience at the Polish Border

Tuesday morning on FOX and Friends, West Virginia Senator Shelley Moore Capito shared her experience at the Polish border. Capito described the situation as “heartbreaking” as mothers and children who left their homes and family members behind in the wake of Russia’s violent invasion gathered together in the processing center.

Capito explained that the experience was “powerful” and “impactful” as she met mothers trying to console their frightened children as air raid sirens sound throughout the day. Capito highlighted the humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees including the 6,000 meals that are served each day in the processing center she visited. Additionally, Capito noted the incredible outreach by the Polish to welcome Ukrainian refugees into their own homes. President Biden will also visit Poland later this week.
