Wisconsin Fire Department Sending Equipment to Ukrainian Firefighters

Wednesday morning on FOX and Friends, Ainsley Earhardt interviewed Jim Lejcar and Artur Stypula, members of the Salem Lakes Fire Department in Wisconsin. Their fire department is gathering excess, outdated fire equipment to donate to Ukrainian firefighters.

Jim explained that Art approached him last week with the idea to gather gear to send to Ukraine. Since receiving approval from the fire chief, their phones have not stopped ringing with people trying to help. Jim added that this is not the first time their fire department has sent equipment to firefighters handling crises.

Art described the bond between firefighters worldwide saying that they “all kind of share the same blood” and watching the horrors unfold in Ukraine, Art shared that “we felt what they felt” and knew his fire department needed to help. The Salem Lakes Fire Department is spreading the word through social media and email chains to garner support. Those interested in helping can also visit helpheroesofukraine.com.
